The poll, conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. for the Georgia Newspaper Partnership, interviewed 625 registered Georgia voters. Here’s how they said they were going to vote, overall and by demographic groups:

Overall: Nathan Deal-R 47% (Roy Barnes-D 40%, John Monds-L 6%, undecided 7%)

Gender:

Men: Deal 51% (Barnes 37%, Monds 6%, undecided 6%)

Women: Barnes 44% (Deal 40%, Monds 4%, undecided 12%)

Party:

Democrats: Barnes 86% (Deal 3%, Monds 4%, undecided 7%)

Republicans: Deal 84% (Barnes 5%, Monds 6%, undecided 5%)

Independents: Deal 45% (Barnes 38%, Monds 8%, undecided 9%)

Race:

White: Deal 62% (Barnes 26%, Monds 6%, undecided 6%)

Black: Barnes 84% (Deal 3%, Monds 2%, undecided 11%)

Region:

Metro Atlanta: Deal 44% (Barnes 42%, Monds 8%, undecided 6%)

North Georgia: Deal 56% (Barnes 34%, Monds 3%, undecided 7%)

Central Georgia: Deal 47% (Barnes 42%, Monds 3%, undecided 8%)

South Georgia: Deal 49% (Barnes 37%, Monds 4%, undecided 10%)
