Columbus crime: Man accused of fighting with downtown bar bouncers, officers

A 22-year-old accused of fighting with bar bouncers downtown kicked a police officer and punched another, Columbus police said.

Someone flagged down officers outside of Mix Ultra Lounge, 1107 Broadway, around 2 a.m. Sunday. The officers spotted the suspect fighting with the bouncers and they approached, identified themselves a police and tried to arrest the suspect, police said.

That’s when the suspect kicked one officer in the face and punched the other officer in the mouth, reports state.

Police got the man into custody and put him in a patrol car. He then kicked the car window and bent its frame, police said.

David Reed Burns faces two counts of obstruction of a an officer and a count of interference with government property, records state.
