MOBILE, Ala. -- Chattahochee Valley Community College ran out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back, beating Bishop State 64-41 on Saturday.
The lead could have been more. The Pirates were 3-for-13 from the free-throw line in the first half. They corrected bettered that stat in the second half, hitting all seven shots.
CVCC led 34-23 at half.
Shan Basley led all scorers with 21 points. Matika Sterling added 11 for CVCC.

MOBILE, Ala. -- Chattahoochee Valley Community College held Bishop State to just eight second-half points in the Pirates win.
It was the Pirates second straight win to put them above .500 (4-3) in region play.
CVCC was down 38-26 at half and outscored Bishop State 25-8. Marquis Williams led the Pirates with 11 points.
