Many people celebrate today as Boy Scout Day. The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated on Feb. 8, 1910 and chartered by Congress in 1916, according to information posted on the organization's website.

The site says the organization aims "to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness."

Eagle Scout is Boy Scouting's highest advancement rank. About 5 percent of all Boy Scouts earned the Eagle Scout rank in 2009, the organization reports.

Among the famous Eagle Scouts? John Tesh, Neil Armstrong and Donald Rumsfeld, according to the National Eagle Scout Association.

Bragging time, readers: Any Eagle Scouts in the house?
