Either wear your walking shoes for tonight’s Columbus ArtWalk or take advantage of the shuttle that will take guests between each of the three venues.

The ArtWalk is 5:30-8 p.m. and features just one artist -- Bo Bartlett, a Columbus native who splits his time between Washington, Maine and Columbus.

For the ArtWalk, Columbus State University, Columbus Bank and Trust and the W.C. Bradley Co. have partnered to present Bartlett’s exhibits.

“Paintings of Home” will be at the Illges Gallery, 901 Front Ave. These paintings reflect Bartlett’s Columbus influences with local icons and memories. They include “Ma Rainey, Queen of the Blues,” “Dr. Pemberton Discovers Coke,” “School of Charm” and “Inheritance.” A 12-minute DVD of a recent interview will be playing in the gallery.

“A Survey of Painting,” on display at the Bradley Co. Museum, 1017 Front Ave., will feature paintings Bartlett produced from 1998-2009. They include “Young Traveler,” “Painters Crossing” and “Hiroshima.” More than 50 of his paintings will be displayed in the former cotton warehouse. His film, “Heartland,” will be playing in the gallery.

“Sketchbooks, Journals and Studies” will be at the Turner and Jordan galleries at CB&T, 1148 Broadway. Sketchbooks, journals and objects of inspiration will be on display. A DVD lecture will be playing in one of the galleries.

Bartlett said he had to carefully examine his journals because he wrote down everything that happened in his life, and there were some names and situations that could prove embarrassing.

“I had to find some pages that were safe,” he said with a grin.

Bartlett and his wife, artist Betsy Eby, will attend receptions at all three venues tonight.
