Country act BadHorse will return to the Chattahoochee Valley Saturday with a show at the Loft.

The six-piece band comes with local ties -- guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Grant grew up in Shiloh, a small Harris County town about 40 miles northeast of Columbus. Grant’s grandfather sang on a weekly Columbus radio show and influenced his grandson’s musical career.

BadHorse’s Robert E., a back-up vocalist and guitarist worked in Columbus and turned to music when an injury interrupted his football career at Auburn University.

The band describes its sound as “high-powered southern rock with a touch of country roll,” and has opened for groups and performers such as The Zac Brown Band, Randy Travis, Trace Adkins and Shenandoah.

During Saturday’s show, expect to hear performances of the band’s two newest singles, “Mississippi Rain” and “My Little Man.”

If you download the band’s single “My Little Man” from iTunes, a portion of the proceeds go to assist military families in need.

The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door or online, $10 for military.
