Tickets still available for tonight’s MidTown Mingle

Tonight’s MidTown Mingle is the first big fundraiser for MidTown Inc. Executive director Anne King is hoping to raise $50,000 for MidTown’s projects and programs. It’s also a way to raise awareness for the nonprofit organization and its programs.

The nonprofit organization covers a 6-square-mile area that stretches from 10th Avenue to the west and Talbotton/Warm Springs roads to the north, the Lindsay Creek Bypass (I-185) to the east and Martin Luther King Boulevard to the south.

Courtney Ellis of MidTown said there are plenty of general admission tickets that will be sold today, though the office has sold more than 100 already.

General admission costs $10, and includes a cash bar and food, sweets and beverages for purchase from Country’s Barbecue, Locos Grill and Pub, the Ice Cream Girl, Callaway Blue Springs Water and B&B Beverage Co.

Also available are raffle tickets. Of the 800 tickets, there are still about 200 left, Ellis said. For $10, guests will have a chance to win one of five baskets filled with goods from MidTown businesses worth $400-$1,400.

The Mingle is 6:30-10:30 p.m. tonight at The Village on 13th Street (across from Lewis Jones).

Ellis said guests should not worry about parking. Plenty of spots will be available in the Lewis Jones lot, along Warren Williams Road and at Dinglewood Park (across from Locos Grill and Pub). She also said that there will be security officers to hold traffic so guests can safely cross 13th Street.

Peggy Jenkins and the Bizness, which features guitarists Larry Rose and Bob Rumer and drummer Eddie Robinson, will perform.
