Mothers deserve to be pampered but if you dont feel like cooking, let someone else do the work and treat mom to a meal out on Sunday. Here are a few highlights.
Vintage 222: 222 Seventh St. 706-322-4075. The restaurant that is attached to the Rothschild-Pound House, will feature a special menu for Mothers Day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. There are seven items on the menu, with prices ranging from $10-$18. Options include pancakes and seasonal fruit, wild Georgia shrimp and stone-ground smoked cheddar cheese grits and horseradish and roast garlic encrusted prime rib of beef.
Ariccia Trattoria & Bar: Inside the Hotel at Auburn University, 241 S. College St., Auburn; 334-844-5140. Mothers Day Brunch buffet has salads and omelet stations, mustard-glazed pork, salmon wellington, shrimp and grits, lamb, chicken and beef tenderloin. Brunch will be served in three seatings at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. EDT. $34; $15 for children 12 and younger. Reservations are required.
Callaway Gardens: Pine Mountain on U.S. 27. 1-800-225-5292. The Plant Room has brunch from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. It includes beef tenderloin, chicken, mahi mahi and pork loin. Its $32.95; $15.95 for children 6-12. The Country Kitchen is open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. and mom will get a small jar of peach preserves or peach butter.
Carriage & Horses Restaurant: 607 Butts Mill Road, Pine Mountain. 706-663-4777. A buffet of including seafood and prime rib will be open noon-3 p.m.. $25 each. Reservations needed.
