Soldiers with the 11th Engineer Battalion piled into Doughboy Stadium on Thursday to watch their team take on 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, in the loser’s bracket final of the Commander’s Cup. The Engineers won 2-1 to advance to the post championship match against the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation.

Pat Douglas, with 1/15, said the Engineers showed espirit de corps.

“The unit support is the way it is supposed to be,” he said.

In Thursday’s title game, the Engineers lost to WHINSEC 2-1.
