A little free music: The Columbus Community Orchestra under the direction of William Fry and Ben Mallard will perform an evening of the world’s greatest concert overtures. Joe Garza will be the guest trumpeter in Richard Paeslee’s “Nightsongs.” It starts at 7:30 at the Hardaway High School auditorium.

TUESDAY

Talking public money: Columbus Council will hold a Budget Review Committee meeting at 8 a.m. in council chambers on the Plaza Level of the Government Center. The council is trying to hammer out the details of the fiscal 2012 budget.

WEDNESDAY

World Cup shooters: Many of the top shooters in the world, including U.S. Olympic hopefuls, will be participating in the World Cup competition at the U.S. Army Marksmanship unit on Fort Benning. The eight-day event, which started Monday, runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

THURSDAY

Coffee Break for Seniors: Seniors will tour “Annotations -- David Gilmour Blythe’s ‘Land of Liberty’,” followed by coffee, dessert and conversation at 2 p.m. in the Columbus Museum. It is a free event.

Mountain climbing with the newcomers: The Newcomers Club of Columbus will meet at 7 p.m. in the Columbus Botanical Garden at 3603 Weems Road. The guest speaker is Bud Allen, a local mountain climber who will give a presentation of his climbs of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest.

Graduations: The Muscogee County School District’s Early College, Glenwood School and Russell County High School all graduate tonight. Early College at 7 p.m. at Columbus State, Glenwood, 8 p.m. at the Phenix City Ampitheater and Russell County 8 p.m. at the school’s stadium.

More money talk: Columbus Council will hold another Budget Review Committee meeting at 8 a.m. in council chambers.

FRIDAY

Tea, please: Would you like to attend a proper British Tea? The 3 p.m. free event at the Columbus Public Library will feature Kristen Hansen, associate professor of music, Columbus State University Schwob School of Music. Bring your favorite teacup.

Graduations: Three Muscogee County schools graduate at the Civic Center -- Carver at 4, Spencer at 6:30 and Northside at 8:30 p.m. Central Phenix City graduates at 7:30 p.m. in Henderson Stadium.

SATURDAY

More graduations: Three Muscogee County schools -- Kendrick, Columbus High and Shaw -- will graduate in the Civic Center. Kendrick at 8:30 a.m. Columbus High at 11, and Shaw at 2 p.m. Pacelli will graduate at 10 a.m. at the school and Harris County will graduate at 10 a.m. at Columbus State University.

SUNDAY

Even more graduations: The final two Muscogee County schools -- Hardaway and Jordan -- will graduate at the Civic Center. Hardaway at 2 p.m. and Jordan to follow at 5. Brookstone graduates at 8 p.m. at the school and Calvary Christian at 3 p.m. at Calvary Church.
