A Day in the Life: 1-4 p.m. June 7-10 for children ages 5-10. Students will explore what it would be like to live each day in a different time period. $65; $50 for museum members.

CSU Activ8 camps

Activ8 Academy offers a special program for future Activ8ers who are 4-7 years old. All of these camps will be held at the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center for Continuing Education (EBTC). Every week children can try a variety of arts, crafts, games and songs designed around a central theme. All participants should bring their own lunch and supervision is included. Drop off and pick up will be at the EBTC. Before and after care will be available for an additional fee. All 4-year-olds must turn 5 before December 31, 2011, to participate.

Pirate Party: Chart a course to adventure, as we kick off the summer with a pirate party. Create a beard, hat, hook and parrot to transform yourself into a pirate. Learn to talk like a pirate, make a spy glass and design a ship of your very own. Of course, you can’t play pirates without a treasure chest and map. Includes plenty of music, dancing and games. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 23-27 for children ages 4–7; $149.

Seuss City: Inside Dr. Suess’s noodle, there is a lot to see and doodle. Play with words and counting toodle. Make a rhyme or use your time to dance and sing. You’ll do a bit of everything. Like playing games where you toss a ball inside a striped hat, but please don’t hit our friend, the Cat. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 31-June 3 for ages 4–7; $129.

Ride the Wind: Take flight as we take a crash course in rockets and airplanes. You will learn what makes them fly, build a variety of flying machines, test them, race them, and design one of your own. You’ll also make a pair of goggles and a pilot’s scarf so you feel right at home in the cockpit. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 6-10 for ages 4–7; $149.

Building an Empire: Compare the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome to discover what it takes to create a powerful empire. Create a Grecian clay urn, design and build gladiator weapons and dance like an Egyptian. You will go on an archeological dig to look for artifacts and use what you learn about empires to build your own. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 13-17 for ages 4–7; $149.

Myths and Legends: Travel back in time to learn about the ancient myths and legends of the world. Discover what it takes to be a young hero or heroine as you go through a series of trials, tests and contests of mind and body. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 20-24 for ages 4–7; $149.

Holiday Magic: Relive your favorite holidays in our week-long celebration. Help make some traditional snacks, create decorations, play games and learn new songs for Christmas, St. Valentine’s Day, Halloween and July 4th so you can get the most out of your holiday vacation fun. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 27-July 1 for ages 4–7; $149.

Passport to South America: Discover the rainforests, highland plains and cities of South America. You will learn about the culture of its people and unique plant and animal life as you create a passport of your own and travel to this beautiful and mysterious continent. You will sing, dance, make traditional crafts, and play plenty of games. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 5-8 for ages 4–7; $129.

A Week in Wonderland: Enter the world of fantasy, fairy tales and dreams. You’ll create your own “out of this world” hat, create a pet monster and much more. We will end the week with a mad tea party of our own. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 11-15 for ages 4–7; $149.

Pajama Jam: You are invited to join our week-long pajama party. Listen to bedtime stories, design a dream bed, make a teddy bear pal and a personalized pillow case, learn some new lullabies, create decorations for your room, play sleep-over games. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 18-22 for ages 4–7; $149.

Weather Wizards: The weather person on TV is not just pointing to a map. They have learned all about the weather and now it is your turn. Fun projects, activities about different types of weather and learning to read the skies will give you the ability to predict the weather, too. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 25-29 for ages 4–7; $149.

CSU The Activ8ers:

For 8-11-year-old campers. From brain training to sports and dance, choose a class to fit their active and creative lifestyle. Most of these camps will be in the Elizabeth Turner Bradley Center for Continuing Education (EBTC). However, the CSU Recreation Center will be the location for sport camps and the Center for Commerce and Technology will house our iTech camps. Drop off and pick up will be at the EBTC.

Columbus Day Camp for Scouts: June 6-10, Sherwood United Methodist Church, 3503 17th Ave. Activities include BB guns, bows and arrows, crafts, nature and scouting activities. Cub Scouts will earn achievements for Bobcat, Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear and Webelos ranks, belt loops and pins. For ages first grade through fifth grade. Sports by the Numbers: Get a look at sports from a different angle to gain an advantage over the competition. Watch and play various sports to learn how math and science are involved. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes because you will get plenty of hands-on experience on the field. 9 a.m.-noon. June 13-17 for ages 8–11; $79.

Advanced Sign Language: Now that you know the basics, you can begin to improve your sign language skills by broadening your vocabulary and expanding your ability to hold conversations. 9 a.m.-noon. June 20-24 for ages 8–11; $79.

Fanstastic Voyage: Around the World in 5 Days: Take a fantastic journey around the world to visit each continent to learn all about its history and cultures and taste food from the area. 9 a.m.-noon. June 20-24 for ages 8–11; $79.

It’s Easy Being Green: Do your part to help save the planet! Learn how to make simple recipes for green cleaning products, recycle old milk cartons, and construct bird feeders.
