Looking for an activity that will stimulate both your body and your mind?
The Strong4Life 31901 Urban Adventure might be right up your alley. The challenge consists of two-person teams that follow a series of clues (“Amazing Race”-style) that will send them racing, cycling and paddling around Columbus near Woodruff Park.
The event will benefit Strong4Life, a campaign that promotes healthy lifestyles for children and an end to childhood obesity.
The campaign is sponsored by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Live Healthy Columbus, who are hosting the event along with Big Dog Running Co. and Ride on Bikes.
The event, which will feature a free family-friendly health and activity component in addition to the Urban Adventure challenge, is the solution phase of the Strong4Life campaign, said Linda Matzigkeit, senior vice president of strategic planning at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
“We need the community to stand up and say we want to be strong for life,” she said.
Matzigkeit noted that Georgia has the second highest rate of childhood obesity in the country and that if this event is a success, they’ll expand the campaign across the state.
