A witness to Fridays fatal shooting at Pine Grove Mobile Home Park was arrested hours after the death on accusations that he was pimping a 16-year-old girl, police said.
Laquante Kashieem Harviley, 21, who lives at the Plateau Drive mobile home park, is charged with one felony count of pimping, reports state.
Both Harviley and the 16-year-old witnessed the 10:45 p.m. Friday shooting of 40-year-old Alton Lewis Tucker. Police have already arrested 24-year-old Jorge Mendoza-Infante in connection with Tuckers death and are searching for a second man: Christian Antonio Ulloa, 18.
Officers were investigating the shooting when the girl told them that Harviley was her pimp, police said.
Reports state that Harviley would charge $20 up front for someone to have sex with the girl. Men would then pay the girl an additional $40, and she would in turn hand that money over to Harviley. Police allege that Harviley had set her up with more than 100 different men.
The arrangement had gone on for about two months. Harviley denied any wrongdoing, only saying that he dated the girl and that he occasionally borrowed money from her, police said.
Police turned the girl over to her aunt, who is trying to return her to family in Virginia, said Sgt. Frank Massa.
Both Harviley and Mendoza-Infante, who are being held without bond, are scheduled for Columbus Recorders Court at 9 a.m. today.
Ulloa, who police said should be considered armed and dangerous, is a 5-foot-5 Hispanic man weighing 168 pounds with black hair cut above his ears. He lives in the St. Marys Road area and has family in the Oakland Park area.
