Atlanta Braves set to honor Bobby Cox, 1991 Worst to First Team

The Atlanta Braves have a big weekend coming up to celebrate the career of former manager Bobby Cox and the 20th anniversary of the 1991 Worst to First team.

Cox will inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame on Friday, Aug. 12. There will be a retirement ceremony that night prior to the game against the Cubs.

Tickets for the Hall of Fame Luncheon are available by calling 404-614-2310.  Tickets are also available for the game at www.braves.com/tickets or by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.

The 1991 team, which won the NL Western Division after finishing last the season before, will be honored before the Saturday, Aug. 13, game.

There will be a Braves Legends Game at 5:30 p.m., then the 1991 team will be honored just prior to the start of the 7 p.m. game.

Prior to each of the three games against the Cubs, some of the Braves alumni will be signing autographs around Turner Field.

Sundays game is scheduled for 1:35 p.m., but there is a possibility ESPN could move that game to a 8 p.m. start.
