The Columbus Convention and Trade center will host the 3rd annual Uptown Antique Show this weekend.
The show, which is sponsored by Eagle & Phenix Mills lofts, Uptown Columbus and the Columbus Fraternal Order of Police, begins on Friday and goes through Sunday.
It will feature dealers from Atlanta selling antique furniture, French antiques, sterling silver, estate jewelry, Persian rugs, lamps and other decorative items.
Organizer Charlotte Scroggins said there are some advantages to buying antique furniture.
Its really made a lot better than some furniture today and a lot of its made in the U.S.A., she said. It has a value that will increase as it gets older.
Gold Valley Parties South will also be on site to offer estimates on and purchase gold, silver and platinum items, with 20 percent of the proceeds going to the Fraternal Order of Police.
Admission to the show is $3. The show begins at 10 a.m. each day and ends at 6 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
