Star Trek or Star Wars?

This weekend, you can find both at the Coca-Cola Space Science Center’s Columbus Comic Book show.

The annual collectors’ show will feature comic books, toys, collectibles and costumed characters from comic books, movies and TV shows like Star Wars, Star Trek and Ghostbusters. Dutch Cummings, coordinator of visitor services, said the center hosts the show to draw attention to the facility. He said collectors come from across the country to attend.

“It’s kind of your standard comic book collectors’ show,” Cummings said. “There will be vendors there selling and trading collectibles.”

For $4, visitors get admission to the show and activities at the center, which will include special telescope viewings of the sun and viewings of Laser Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in the Omnisphere Theater.

Cummings said kids usually enjoy taking pictures with costumed characters, which look authentic.

“The Star Wars characters especially, they look like they’ve stepped right off the movie set,” he said.
