Disseecting the AP poll

ATHENS - The nice thing about the Associated Press poll is that it's all public. You can examine everyone's ballots, including mine, at the AP site or at Pollspeak.com.

Some notes on what everyone thought about Georgia:

- Georgia was ranked as high as No. 11, by two voters: Mike Hlas (Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gazette) and Pete DiPrimmio (Fort Wayne, IN, News-Sentinel).

- The Bulldogs were in the top 15 of 11 different voters.

- ESPN commentator Chris Folwer had Georgia at No. 15.

- Another ESPN commentator, Craig James, had the Bulldogs No. 16.

- Andy Staples of SI.com was one of the 12 voters who left Georgia off his ballot.

- Around the region: Randy Rosetta of the Baton Rouge (La.) Advocate had Georgia No. 14. Ron Higgins of the Memphis Commercial-Appeal had them at No. 16. John Clay of the Lexington Herald-leader had Georgia at 17, as did Mike Herndon of the Mobile Register and Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Josh Kendall of The State (Columbia, S.C.) voted Georgia No. 18.

- Pollspeak.com also rates voters. The good news for my sake is I'm not rated as an "extreme voter" by the site. I do have Florida State higher than anyone else (at No. 3), and LSU lower than anyone (at No. 12), and I was the only person to vote Washington at all. But other than having Washington in and Auburn out, my top 25 gels with the poll.
