Maybe it’s time to exchange stadium seating for a picnic blanket and free popcorn.

“Movies Under the Stars,” begins this Friday on Wetherby Field at Fort Benning.

The movies run most Friday in September and include animated features like “Rio” and “Gnomeo and Juliet” and the superhero flick, “X-Men First Class.”

Bridgett Siter with the Directorate of Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation said the community suggested and voted on the movies on the organization’s Facebook page.

Siter said movie-goers are welcome to bring lawnchairs and coolers, but should leave alcoholic beverages and pets at home. The movies begin at 8:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Anyone 16 and older must show a photo ID at the Fort Benning access gate.

Here is a complete listing of movies playing:

September 2: “Mr. Popper’s Penguins”

September 9: “Rio”

September 16: “Gnomeo and Juliet”

September 30: “X-Men First Class”
