Carmen's story: Daughter's life changed when mom was diagnosed

ColumbusSeptember 28, 2011

The day my life changed FOREVER, I remember receiving that phone call at work from my mother. She said she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

To this day I do not recall my commute home. All I remember was pulling into my driveway and crying. Crying because I thought to myself, "I'm going to lose my mom."

Any kind of cancer is devastating, not only did it affect my mom but it changed our entire family. Working in a cancer unit at the time, was a blessing as well as a curse. I KNEW all that she would go through...

Here we are 3 years later and she is a SURVIVOR!!!! It took a lot of dedication and prayer...
