Columbus police have issued warrants for a man in connection with a Sunday shooting.

Derrick Hightower, 24, is wanted on an aggravated assault charge. Police accuse him of shooting a 41-year-old man in the stomach around noon Sunday on Morehouse Street.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the victim on the front porch. He remains in critical condition at The Medical Center, Sgt. Ken Hudson said.

“He’s already shot one,” Hudson added. “I think he’ll shoot again.”

Hightower is a black male, 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, police said.

Hudson said Hightower is the only suspect.
