The Fort Benning Conservation Branch, with assistance from the Land Management Branch, has completed construction of a game-cleaning station near the hunting information kiosk on First Division Road. If you are at the kiosk, travel southeast on the gravel trail until it merges into the paved road, continue south on the paved road and the game-cleaning station will be on your left.
Hunters on Fort Benning are authorized to clean their game on post, but should be discrete in transporting game for processing activities, selecting a cleaning location and the disposal of any remains.
If you choose to clean your game at the new facility, there are several rules you need to be aware of. First, leave the cleaning station cleaner than you found it. Use of this cleaning station is a privilege and failure to keep it clean will result in the closure of the facility. If you use the facility, take time to ensure others are using it in an appropriate manner as well, even if you do not have something to clean that day. Ultimately it is going to be up to hunters to police themselves in order to keep the facility clean and operational.
All remains must be placed in buckets provided at the facility. No solid material can enter into the drainage system. Any remains you have should be disposed of in the field in a training area at least 50 feet from a woods trail or placed in a garbage bag and disposed of with your residential trash. It is illegal to dump remains on roads, road right of ways or in any body of water. In addition, Fort Benning prohibits dumping in cantonment and recreational areas. Any non-biodegradable material must be disposed of with household trash. Do not leave remains at the cleaning station or area that may be in view to the general public, which would require others to clean and dispose of the mess. Return buckets back to the cleaning station, thoroughly rinse them and leave them on site for others to use.
Do not drive your vehicle onto the cement slab. A gravel approach is in place, which will allow you to back your vehicle up to the facility.
Hunters who fail to abide by these rules will be fined in accordance with state law and post regulations and have their hunting privileges suspended.
