2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Guns 'N Roses among those honored

December 7, 2011

Back in September I shared with you my picks for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2012.

Today, the inductees were announced.

Only two of the acts I supported got the honor of being inducted this year: the Beastie Boys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The others inductees include: Guns N' Roses, Donovan ("Mellow Yellow"), Laura Nyro (singer/songwriter), The Small Faces/The Faces (Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood were members), Freddie King (early influence), Don Kirshner (rock promoter), Cosimo Matassa (musical excellence), Tom Dowd (musical excellence) and Glyn Johns (musical excellence).

The induction ceremony will be held April 14 in Cleveland.

I gotta say, I'm a little surprised GNR made it in on their first nomination and also that Donna Summer was snubbed again.

What do you think about this year's group of inductees?
