Columbus police: Hometown Grocery employee shot at, almost robbed

Columbus police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting and attempted robbery of a Hometown Grocery employee.

The shooting happened about 10 p.m. at the 1159 27th St. grocery store. The suspect shot at the 47-year-old twice, damaging a 2008 Honda Odyssey, police said.

Reports state the employee was uninjured. There have been no arrests.

The suspect is a black man, 28- to 32-years-old. He’s 5-foot-8 with a slim build and light skin. He wore dark pants, a black-and-white checkered shirt and a dark bandana on his face, police said.
