Go online with NORAD to find Santa this weekend

Santa Claus likes winter stew and dumplings. How do I know? He told me on Twitter.

Now, I’m not sure if Santa tweets directly or has one of his elves handle social media issues.

Either way, when I checked the Twitter account @NorthPolePost [--] “I am the real Santa Claus! Have you been good?” -- I saw a tweet that said Santa was enjoying winter stew and dumplings after a long day. He planned to dream of toys that night.

Can’t control your anticipation over Santa’s upcoming arrival? Try hitting the computer.

Technology has made it easier to not only track Santa’s route, but also get an inside look at his previously secret operations. (Some things remain a mystery, of course.)

If you want to catch up with Santa this weekend, here are some starting points.

NORAD Santa: Ain’t no Christmas like a NORAD Christmas. Use this website to track Santa’s journey on Dec. 24. The site relies on four high-tech systems: radar, satellites, Santa cams and fighter jets.

Before Santa’s big trip, you can visit the site’s Countdown Village, which includes digital activities.

NorthPole.com: Don’t know how to spend the days before Christmas? This site will keep you busy for quite a while. It features a variety of fun activities for kids, including stories and games.

Our favorite element on the site? A disco dancing Santa. You can even change his dance moves.

Santa on Twitter: You can visit the aforementioned @NorthPolePost account, or try the official @NoradSanta Twitter feed. Either way, this is a good source for quick updates from the jolly guy as he tackles his biggest day of the year.

Quick reminder for Santa: We know you love being at technology’s forefront, but please refrain from tweeting while in a chimney. That’s just an accident waiting to happen.
