I meant to post this yesterday after I watched it for the first time, but time got away from me. So here it is, the recently-released trailer for "The Hobbit":

I love "The Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy, but could never make it through the books — I've never been much of a fantasy reader and the scene in the above trailer where Gandalf introduces the other characters to Bilbo is a perfect example of why I barely made it 100 pages into the first book.

But this movie looks fantastic, as was to be expected. The first of the two-part film will be released in December 2012, with the second half premiering in December 2013.
