Recap: Texas A&M vs. Rice

Arsalan Kazemi registered a double- double with 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds as the Rice Owls defeated the Texas A&M Aggies, 65-58, in non-conference play at Reed Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Owls (8-4), as they snapped a two-game slide, were Tamir Jackson with a team-best 13 points, followed by Lucas Kuipers and Ahmad Ibrahim with 12 apiece.

The Aggies (8-3) were paced by David Loubeau with a game-high 14 points, Khris Middleton and Dash Harris 13 points each and Ray Turner 10 as the team bowed for the second time in as many outings.

Texas A&M led by four points early on in the first half, but the team shot just 37.9 percent from the floor as the visitors claimed a 33-26 advantage at the break. The difference in the first half came at the free-throw line where the Owls outscored the hosts, 9-2.

In the second half Rice exploded for 61.1 percent accuracy from the floor in order to take the seven-point win..

The Aggies finished the night shooting just 3-of-13 from three-point range and were beaten on the glass, 37-28.
