Faisal Aden scored a game-high 17 points in just 21 minutes off the bench as the Washington State Cougars posted a 67-56 win over the Pepperdine Waves as part of the Cougar Hardwood Classic at KeyArena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Cougars (8-4) were DaVonte Lacy and Brock Motum with 15 and 11 points, respectively, as they won their sixth game in a row.

The Waves (6-5) were led by Corbin Moore with a double-double consisting of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Darby had a double-double of his own with 13 points and 10 boards. Joshua Lowery tacked on 12 points and three steals as they lost for the second time in the last three outings.

The Waves managed to lead by two points at the 13:45 mark of the first half which is rather surprising given that the visitors made a total of just six field goals in the period and trailed at the break, 26-15.

In the second half both teams shot about 45 percent from the floor, but with just 3-of-12 shooting beyond the arc Pepperdine took itself out of contention.

WSU, which picked up 25 points from the reserves, held the Waves to just 35.6 percent shooting from the floor overall.
