Recap: Idaho State vs. Wyoming

Derrious Gilmore scored 18 points to lead the Cowboys as Wyoming topped the Idaho State Bengals 80-56 in a non-conference bout at Holt Arena.

Luke Martinez chipped in 16 points and a team-high six rebounds for the Cowboys (12-2). Adam Waddell had 13 points in the winning effort.

Kenny McGowen scored 23 points to pace the Bengals (2-9), who are now 0-1 under interim head coach Deane Martin. Chase Garbau led Idaho State with six assists.

Wyoming took a 45-35 lead into the intermission after shooting a sizzling 59.3 percent from the floor and 6-of-10 from three-point range in the first half. Idaho State made just 11 of its 32 field goal attempts in the opening period.

The Bengals continued to struggle as they made just 23.6 percent of their shots from the field after the break. The Cowboys extended their lead by connecting on 48.1 percent of their field goals in the second half.

Wyoming dominated inside as it outscored the home team 32-14 in the paint and won the rebounding battle 37-24.
