Kevin Bradshaw registered a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds as the UC Riverside Highlanders slipped by the San Jose State Spartans, 66-64, in non-conference play at the Student Recreation Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Highlanders (5-7) were Kareem Nitoto and Phil Martin with 14 and 13 points, respectively, as they snapped a two- game slide.

The Spartans (4-8) were led by Keith Shamburger who tallied a game-high 24 points as he knocked down 10-of-11 shots at the free-throw line, while James Kinney tacked on 18 points as they lost for the fourth time in five games.

SJSU led early on in the meeting, but the team failed to make a single trip to the free-throw line in the first half and converted just 4-of-15 behind the three-point line, en route to a 29-24 deficit at the break.

In the second half UCR connected on 58.3 percent from the floor, but the Highlanders kept things interesting as they made only 8-of-14 at the charity stripe.

Riverside made only 4-of-13 behind the three-point line in the meeting, but managed to hold a 39-28 advantage on the glass.
