Kyisean Reed scored a game-high 27 points, shooting a stunning 12-of-13 from the floor, as he led the Utah State Aggies to an 81-62 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes during the final round of the Athletes in Action Classic at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Also having a strong game for the Aggies (8-5) was Preston Medlin who tallied 20 points on 6-of-8 from the field, including 3-of-4 behind the three-point line, while Morgan Grim registered a double-double with 14 points and a game- high 14 rebounds.
Mark Henniger was the only player to score in double figures for Kent State (8-3) with 11 points off the bench. The starting five for the Golden Flashes combined to shoot only 16-of-49 from the floor.
USU scored the first points of the night and never looked back, hitting on 50 percent from the field in order to take a 35-21 lead at the break. KSU made good on only 29.4 percent from the floor and missed all nine attempts behind the three-point line in the period.
In the second half the Aggies raised their field goal shooting to a sizzling 64.0 percent as they cruised to the 19-point win.
Kent State was held to just 34.2 percent shooting from the field and a mere 5- of-24 out on the perimeter.
