Recap: Weber State vs. Utah

Damien Lillard scored 22 points to lead Weber State over Utah, 80-51, in non-conference play at the Dee Events Center.

Scott Bamforth, Kyle Tresnak and James Hajek all finished with 10 points for the Wildcats (8-3).

Dijon Farr led the Runnin' Utes (3-9) with 14 points, while Josh Watkins scored 10 on a mere 3-of-13 shooting from the floor.

WSU shot well from the outset, hitting on 55.2 percent of its field goals and 4-of-8 of its three-pointers. Utah struggled out of the gate, making just 31.8 percent of its shots from the floor and trailed at the break, 41-21.

The Wildcats continued their hot hands in the second, connecting on 52 percent of their shots and 6-of-13 from beyond the arc. The Runnin' Utes improved to 47.8 percent from the field, but made only 1-of-8 three pointers after intermission, as the Wildcats cruised to the easy victory.

WSU, which held the visitors to a mere three offensive rebounds, was able to convert 11 Utah turnovers into 18 points.
