The last time I updated this blog, I was about 10 minutes away from boarding an airplane and had just learned about Adam Lambert's arrest.

Moving on...USA Today's Idol Chatter has a poll asking readers which "American Idol" contestant released the best album in 2011. You can vote for selections ranging from Scotty McCreery to Kelly Clarkson.

I enjoyed most of the music we got from Idols in 2011. Scotty and Lauren released pretty impressive debut discs. Looking ahead, I hope we hear some great new material from other season 10 contestants in 2012.

Which Idol would you most like to see succeed in 2012? Answers don't necessarily have to be singers who won the show.
