Mayor Teresa Tomlinson's Passenger Rail Commission meeting Wednesday

Mayor Teresa Tomlinson’s Commission on Passenger Rail will holds its first meeting Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the ground floor conference room of the Government Center.

The commission is charged with studying the feasibility of Columbus pursuing being part of the state’s proposed passenger rail system.

Included on the agenda for the meeting are presentations by Gordon Kenna, CEO of Georgians for Passenger Rail, and former Charlotte, N.C., Mayor Pat McCrory.

The commission is made up of business leaders, transportation officials, elected officials (including three city councilors) and interested citizens. Co-chairs are state Rep. Calvin Smyre and attorney Edward Hudson.
