When I tell a crowd of people that I blog about "American Idol," usually at least one person offers this response: "Wow, I haven't watched that show in forever."
The concept seems crazy to die-hard "Idol" fans, but not everyone has stuck with the show. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Rodney Ho has an interesting post about "Idol" ratings.
Despite the many fans who have abandoned the show throughout the years, "Idol" has been the No. 1 show in America since 2006, he writes.
I agree with his prediction that the show's ratings will slide this season. We don't have the buzz that comes with new judges or format changes. But you have to remember this ratings discussion is very relative. Even when the show's ratings decline, "Idol" still usually beats its competition.
How many of your friends have stuck with "Idol" through the good and bad?
