LaGrange native Elijah Kelley stars in "Red Tails," a movie about the Tuskegee Airmen

As part of the publicity tour for "Red Tails," a movie about the Tuskegee Airmen, Elijah Kelley, a LaGrange native, will take part in a celebration on Jan. 20 in his hometown.

Kelley, who had a role in the musical, "Hairspray," stars as Samuel "Joker" George.

The Legacy Museum on Main, 136 Main St., in downtown LaGrange, will have a special Tuskegee Airmen and World War II exhibit opening at 4 p.m.

Kelley will be at Carmike Cinemas 10, 201 Main St., in LaGrange after the museum reception.

The movie, about the famous black pilots in World War II, is produced by George Lucas and directed by Anthony Hemingway, who has directed episodes of "Treme," "The Wire" and "Battlestar Galactica."

It also stars Cuba Gooding Jr., who was in the HBO movie, "The Tuskegee Airmen," in 1995, Terrence Howard ("Crash"), Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad"), Nate Parker ("The Secret Lives of Bees"), Cliff Smith (also known as Method Man) and Daniela Ruah of "NCIS Los Angeles."

The movie opens nation-wide on Jan. 20.
