Valley police: Suspects impersonate police, tie up victim and shoot him in leg

Valley, Ala., police are searching for two suspects who impersonated police officers, tied up a man and then shot him in the leg, reports state.

Police responded about 8:30 a.m. today to a home invasion at a County Road 502 residence. When they arrived, they found the 36-year-old resident in his driveway with a gunshot wound to his leg, said Maj. Mike Reynolds.

According to reports, the gunshot victim told police two men came to his home. The suspects said they were officers. They then tied up the man and shot him.

The man escaped by jumping through a bedroom window, Reynolds said.

A witness saw a maroon Ford Sport Trac with tinted windows and a chrome roll bar in the neighborhood just before the shooting. The vehicle was last seen turning north onto Ben Brown Road from County Road 502.
