Four people, including a month-old infant, were unhurt early Saturday after three shots were fired into a home in the 700 block of Lawyers Lane, Columbus police said.
In a report, police said the house was fired on about 2:50 a.m.
Police didn't specify how many shots were fired but a young woman who lives there said three shots were fired into the home. "Shots went through the wall," she said Saturday.
The gunman who fired the shots apparently fired the gun from a distance because the house sits back off the street, the woman said. "Our house was sitting in the back," she said. "They had to get out the car and shoot the house at a distance."
The woman said no one has any idea why someone would fire into the house.
If a suspect is arrested, the gunman will be charged with four counts of aggravated assault. The shooting remains under investigation.
