A 75-year-old Hurtsboro man was killed today in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 431 in Phenix City, authorities said.
David Mack was driving a small pickup truck southbound on the four-lane highway when he ran off the road's right side near Fifth Street and wound up in a creek bed, said Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry.
Sumbry said Phenix City police were called to the wreck about 8:40 a.m. No one was in the truck with Mack, he said.
