In this edition of the crime blog: A mom who paid her son’s tab at The Platinum Club.
Talk about a Mother’s Day anecdote you can tell for years.
OK, what I’m talking about didn’t happen on Mother’s Day. It happened at the 2723 Manchester Expressway club early Sunday, Columbus police said.
Enter our protagonist: 32-year-old Clinton Lee Conrad. Conrad was at the club and had become unruly. Police were called, and employees of the club told them Conrad hadn’t paid his tab, reports state.
Some time later, Conrad’s mother shows up and pays his tab, police report.

But get this: Instead of leaving, Conrad began screaming curse words and acting belligerent in the parking lot. Conrad was told to calm down. He didn’t, and that got him charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of a law enforcement officer, police said.
Jail records show Conrad was being held Tuesday on $500 bonds.
