Columbus police: Man accused of assaulting wife with his car

A Columbus man was arrested Monday after police say he assaulted his wife with a car.

Robert Joseph Robinson, 35, is charged with aggravated assault and having an open container, reports state.

According to police, Robinson rammed his wife’s Saturn with his Ford as they drove near Broadmoor Drive about 2:30 p.m. Officers stopped Robinson at Lakeside Drive and Fletcher Avenue, where they spotted an open 1.75 liter bottle in his car.

Police don’t state what type of alcohol was in the bottle.
