Columbus courts: 3 men indicted for murder in pastor’s shooting death

Three men accused in the March 2011 shooting death of a Pittsview, Ala., pastor were indicted on murder charges Monday by a Muscogee County grand jury, court records state.

Donnie McQuinn Forte, 53, Michael McCoy Ingram, 60, and Joel Thomas, 24, each face charges of malice murder, felony murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Forte also is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Thomas faces an additional charge of robbery by sudden snatching in an unrelated case, records state.

The three men are accused in the fatal shooting of Blanchard Thomas, who was found under the Oglethorpe Bridge, near Golden Park, with a gunshot wound to the right cheek, police said.
