Sgt. Michael Wilson, a medic with the 5th Ranger Training Battalion, Ranger Training Brigade, re-enlists Jan. 27 at Lower Mountaineering Area, Dahlonega, Ga., to meet the Service Remaining Requirement after submitting a packet and being selected for special operations combat medic training. Capt. Chad Maddox, company commander, was the re-enlisting officer. According to a letter on troop strength signed by Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond Chandler, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Raymond Odierno and Secretary of the Army John McHugh, over the next few years our Army will reduce its end strength and shape the force for future requirements. As we begin this deliberate process, it is imperative we retain those Soldiers with the greatest potential for future service ones truly deserving to remain a part of our Army team.
