The Shack is back.
Thats the central message this weekend at Columbus hot spot the Shanty Shack, 4475 Warm Springs Road. The bar hosts a grand opening celebration Friday and Saturday that will include music from DJ Hennessey and drink specials.
This probably isnt the first time youve heard the bars name.
The location was previously known as the Shanty Shack. Last summer, it got a new owner and became Duffys.
Steve Toms, who owned Duffys, was fatally shot last November at the Gold and Silver Trading Center in Columbus, where he was the manager.
Now, previous owner John Boy has once again taken the reins at the Shanty Shack. Hell celebrate his birthday during this weekends grand opening celebration.
Changes at the hot spot include a bigger dance floor and an emphasis on contemporary dance music.
Plus, you can order a martini at the bar.
The news might surprise people who previously considered the Shanty Shack a Bud Light joint. The bar now boasts a full menu of specialty drinks. Options range from a Milky Way martini to a traditional cosmo.
A Ladies Martini Party is offered on Tuesdays, but you can get the martinis on other nights, too. The bar has a special that lets guests sample three martinis for $9. Not into martinis? The Shanty Shack also has a new Shack Attack Hunch Punch.
In addition to this weekends grand opening festivities, the bar will host its regular poker game at 4 p.m. Saturday.
