Hilya Nghiwete of Windhoek, Namibia, in southwest Africa, will be talking about a volunteer project for high school and college students at 6-8 p.m. March 5 in the Columbus Public Library, 3000 Macon Road.
Nghiwete is the undersecretary of finance, planning and administration in the Ministry of Education in Namibia.
This project gives American students an opportunity to travel to a different country and work with Namibian students.
The three-week project will also allow students to do volunteer work in literacy and arts projects. They will also be able to go on an animal safari to see the wildlife in Namibia.
The costs to take part of this project are still not determined.
