Charles Flowers will not return to coach at Troup High for a third season.

The former Shaw High coach was terminated Tuesday by the Troup County School System.

“The decision not to renew Coach Flowers contract is a personnel matter made in the best interest of Troup High School and the Troup County School System,” Troup County School System public relations director said in a press release.

Flowers was 16-7 in two seasons at his alma mater. In 21 seasons, 14 of which were spent at Shaw, Flowers has a 161-82 record.

He led the Raiders to a state football championship in 2000.
