Alabama football recruiting: Huntsville, Ala., offensive lineman Grant Hill and Marietta, Ga., running back Tyren Jones commit to Crimson Tide

Published: February 23, 2012

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama reportedly received two commitments following Saturday’s second junior day in the past month.

Huntsville High offensive lineman Grant Hill and Marietta, Ga., running back Tyren Jones made public commitments in the past two days, the major recruiting services reported.

Jones (5-foot-9, 197 pounds), chose Alabama over schools such as Auburn, Boston College, Florida and Oklahoma State.

The 6-6, 310-pound Hill had offers from Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi and Mississippi State, Scout.com reported.

Verbal commitments are nonbinding before prospects sign scholarship papers, starting in February of their senior year. Alabama now has nine public commitments for the Class of 2013.
