Assistant parks and rec director Travis Landrum gets certification

Published: March 7, 2012

Travis Landrum, the city’s assistant Parks and Recreation director, has been named a certified park and recreation professional by the National Recreation and Park Association, according to a city release.

“Achieving the CPRP certification provides proof of Travis’ ability to meet or exceed national standards,” said Parks and Rec Director James Worsley. “It also demonstrates a new level of commitment to the parks and recreation field.”

Landrum came to Columbus last August from the parks and rec department of Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, which is also where Worsley worked before coming to Columbus earlier in the year.

The Columbus parks and rec department is currently seeking national accreditation, which will be helped by Landrum’s certification, Worsley said.
