Teachers honored at breakfast

March 14, 2012

The Muscogee County School District Teacher of the Year Recognition Breakfast was held this morning at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.

Honored were 59 teachers, each considered the best at their school.

National Teacher of the Year Michelle Shearer spoke to the audience and told those present that no matter what country she visits teachers tell her the same thing. "They say it is all about the students."

Columbus State University President Tim Mescon spoke to the teachers and told them, "we have a better community for what you do in the schools."
