High school roundup: Todd Dial throws one-hitter for Russell County

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. -- Todd Dial pitched a one-hitter to lead Russell County over Chelsea 12-2 Tuesday in the Lake Martin Classic.

Dial struck out 11 and walked three in the six-inning game, shortened due to the mercy rule.

BROOKSTONE BOYS, GIRLS, SECOND IN TRI-MEET

Both Schley County teams won the meet with Brookstone and Central Talbotton. Brookstone came in second in both contests.

Brookstone swept the pole vault for boys and girls. Heather Harris, Theresa Lunsford and Bria Kalpin took the top three spots in the girls event. Harris cleared 6 feet, 6 inches. Ben Jones won the boys vault by clearing 8 feet 6 inches. Jack Norman took second in the event.
