A busy recruiting day: Georgia nets three commitments

ATHENS - Georgia racked up three commitments on Friday: A receiver, an inside linebacker and an offensive lineman.

Ryne Rankin, an inside linebacker, is a four-star prospect according to most recruiting services. The Orlando, Fla., product is listed at 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds.

Valdosta native Aulden Bynum, an offensive lineman, is a three-star prospect according to 247sports.com. Bynum is listed at 6-5, 270, and currently attends Valwood School.

Kyrin Priester, currently enrolled at Brookwood High in Snellville, committed on Friday, according to multiple recruiting sites. Priester, listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, transfered to Brookwood after playing high school football in the Orlando area.

Georgia's other receiver commitment is Tramel Terry from Goose Creek, S.C.

Priester was the first to commit, early on Friday afternoon. A short time after Priester's commitment, Rankin announced on Twitter that he was "officially a Georgia Bulldog." Then news broke a bit before 6 p.m. that Bynum was on board as well.

The trio of commitments brings Georgia's total to 12 for the 2013 class.

Priester and Rankin will help Georgia improve its Florida ties, after the departures of a number of players from that state. Safety Marc Deas, tailback Carlton Thomas, cornerback Derek Owens and offensive lineman Brent Benedict are all Florida natives who have transfered from the program in the past year. Tight end Orson Charles also went pro, and kicker Blair Walsh graduated.

Meanwhile, the Valdosta pipeline keeps pumping for the Bulldogs; Bynum joins a list of recent recruits from the city that also includes Josh Harvey-Clemons, Malcolm Mitchell and Jay Rome.
